Air21 falls to Red Bull

RANIDEL De Ocampo and the rest of the Air21 Express tried their best but could not deny the aggressive performance of the Red Bull Barakos Friday night as they fell to an 88-98 decision in the PBA-KFC Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Express, who nipped the Barakos in their early meeting, 72-69, missed a lot of shots (23-out-of-57 total field goals or 32.6%) to receive an 8-8 card that tied them with the Sta. Lucia Realtors at the middle, while the Barakos improved to 5-11.

De Ocampo nailed 21 points on 3-of-7 beyond the arc to go along with nine rebounds and six assists, while Gary David went on with 17 points and Nino KG Canaleta had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Express, who need to sweep their last two big assignments — Alaska and Talk ‘N Text.

JC Intal and Arwind Santos made 13 points each.

“Our last two games are very tough, challenging. We need to win those two games to make it to the outright quarterfinals,” said Air21 coach Bo Perasol.

Red Bull drew 22 points and seven boards from big man Carlo Sharma.

Air21 88 - De Ocampo 21, David 17, Intal 13, Santos 13, Canaleta 11, Arboleda 5, Kramer 2, Cruz 2, Billones 2, Se 2, Quinahan 0, Sta. Maria 0.

Quarter Scores: 30-26, 54-46, 72-67, 98-88.

nakaka-inis we’re on the 6th place instead na nasa 2nd-4th place dapat tayo…

wildcard na naman ba ???

i know everybody dont like where we are,
so sana naman mahabag yang mga member ng board…
we deserve naman to be in the 2nd place kahit 0-3 ang start…

mga air21 express fans na saan na kayo..kailangan bigyan natin ang team ng full support…kasi kailangan nila ipanalo ang 2 huling games para hindi tayo bumagsak sa wildcard….may pag asa pa tayo sa semis bakit parang nawawala na kayong gana mag comment naman kayo..nasaan na ang UBE REPUBLIC

nakakawalang gana na ang mag-support sa Air21. Mangilan-ilan na lang ang maaasan nilang player ipinamigay pa si Ranidel. Gusto ang team dahil troika ng maaasahan nilang player na sina Arwind, Gary at Ranidel at ipinamigay pa nila ang isa so I think isasantabi ko na lang muna uli ang PBA. Dati kasi Tanduay fan ako at lumipat lang ako sa Air21 nung bilhin nila ang franchise ng Tanduay, pero sa mga pinaggagawa nila na instead na magpalakas eh namimigay pa sila ng player eh mabuti pa magsara na lang sila ng franchise. It’s useless rooting for a team you are hoping to go up in the ranks pero sa ginagawa nila, I think they will go instead in the downward trend na. Sayang, instead of aiming for a championship before they fold up eh nagpapahina pa sila sa ginagawa nila. Mabuti kung maaasahan na player ang makukuha nila eh palaos na tong si Allado. And regarding the first round pick in 2012. What position do they expect? With the entry of Ranidel sa Talk n Text, am sure tataas pa ang standing ng Talk n Text in the coming years so yung pick na nakuha nila sa kalaban eh nasa hulihan na ng draft so puro latak na lang ang makukuha nila na player. Sana kung sa Red Bull or Coke ibinigay si Ranidel eh mas pakikinabangan pa sana nila. I think this is it. Good luck na lang sa mga natitira nilang players. Kung makita ko later na aangat pa rin ang laro nila inspite of the loss of Ranidel eh baka susuporta uli ako sa kanila. Good luck na lang uli guys and God bless all of you. Thanks for the good times.
